Boys Varsity Football · Five St. Vincent-St. Mary High School Athletes Commit on National Signing Day


Akron, OH- On Wednesday, February 6, 2019, five St. Vincent-St. Mary High School athletes committed to colleges during the regular signing period for football.

  1. Russell Cooper III finished his fourth season as a member of the Fighting Irish Football program. Russell is a three year letterman in football, 2018 Captain, and a four year letterman in track.  In his career, Russell has been a part of the 2017 State Semi Finalist team and is 2nd in school history for Longest Punt Return, in which he returned a punt for 97 yards in 2017. Russell was the 2018 James Burdon Strength and Destiny Award Winner. In 2017, Russell was a member of the 2017 4×200 State Championship Relay Team. Russell signed his National Letter of Intent for football to Gannon University.

 

  1. Jack Knox finished his fourth season as a member of the Fighting Irish Football program.  Jack is a three year letterman in football and a is a two year starter. In his career, Jack started 24 consecutive games and accumulated 223.5 tackles with two interceptions.  He is a 2017 and 2018 Division III Northeast Inland All- District Honorable Mention, 2017 Frank Stams VM84 /Harry Kidder Linebacker of the Year and the 2018 Provie Tomei VM75/ John “Joe” Nist M50 Lifter of the Year.  Jack was also a member of the 2017 State Semi Finalist team. Jack signed his National Letter of Intent for Football to Baldwin Wallace.

 

  1. Damien Palmer finished his fourth season as a member of the Fighting Irish Football program.  Damien is a three year letterman and a three year starter. Damien has been an integral part of the defensive and offensive line. In his career, Damien has been a part of the 2017 State Semi Finalist team.  Damien signed his National Letter of Intent to Highland Community Junior College in Kansas.

 

  1. Dalen Peeks finished his fourth season as a member of the Fighting Irish Football program.  Dalen is a three year letterman and a two year starter. Dalen was the 2017 Most Improved Player, 2018 Captain, 2018 Defensive MVP and 2018 Best Defensive Back.   In his career, Dalen was a member of the 2017 State Semi FInalist Team. Dalen signed his National Letter of Intent to Wayne State University.

 

  1. Anthony Ward finished his fourth year as a member of the Fighting Irish Football program.  Anthony is a three year letterman, two year starter and a four year letterman in wrestling. Anthony was the 2017 and 2018 Best Defensive Lineman.  In his career, Anthony was a member of the 2017 State Semi Finalist Team.  Anthony is signing his National Letter of Intent to Baldwin Wallace.
